One Vessel delivered, Two to Go.
Mid-September Tronds Marine delivered the first of three barges equipped with accommodation rigs delivered by its client Stord Innkvartering As. In addition to the delivery of barges, TMS scope has been to design and deliver mooring arrangement as well as assist Boliden Odda As & Stord Innkvartering As with solutions and advice in relation to the construction of quay front, moorings bollards etc.
The accommodation barges will be used in connection with the production expansion at Boliden Odda. From their annual report 2021; “The decision to increase production at the Odda zinc smelter from 200 to 350 ktonnes per year was the single biggest investment decision in 2021. Increased production, the ability to extract by-products and increased automation ensure long-term competitiveness. Furthermore, with its access to fossil-free energy and efficient logistics, Odda is probably the most climate-efficient zinc smelter in the world, and the demand for zinc will only increase, among other things as a result of the energy transition in Europe”.
In addition to Tronds Marine's client Stord Innkvartering and end client Boliden Odda, the company thanked 4Service(Canteen, catering and cleaning services), Fjeld Consultant AS(mooring analyses) and sub-contractors for the good cooperation so far.
